If you are thinking about taking a Virginia Beach fishing charter than you are thinking about having a great adventure. If you go during the spring you are bound to catch flounder, croaker, bluefish or many more. You can also go out during May and catch black drum that is said to be as much as 80 pounds during this month.

Summer is also a great time to go fishing at Virginia Beach. There are many chances during this period to catch cobia, spadefish, sheepshead and Spanish mackerel. You can also find good flounder and croaker during this season.

Summer is popular for offshore fishing and catching tuna. When you take a fishing charter make sure you get a good captain that will watch the satellite shots so that you can get where the good tuna is. The captain should have good equipment that will be able to tell him where the good spots are.

There are several fishing areas that you can go to. The Weather Buoy is nice, as well as the Norfolk Canyon. They are about 75 miles off of the coast of Virginia Beach. There are also other areas that are nice to go to and have really productive fishing like near the canyon walls and the Norfolk Canyons.

If you go in late summer then you can also catch a lot of different varieties of fish. In October the water temperatures will be lower so there is not a lot of good fishing during this period. The striped bass is always still good during the colder months, though. The striped bass migrated down along the coast during this period.

So no matter what type of fish you would rather catch, there is usually a specific season that you should charter a boat. Find out beforehand so you are not disappointed. Virginia Beach fishing charter adventures are always wonderful and you should have a great time.

Golf is a game that can be a great joy or it can drive you stark raving mad. It can take years of your life or make you feel like you’re on cloud nine. Golf takes patience and armed with a good swing, it can take you a long way. While the objective of the game is easy, hit a ball really hard into a hole on the other side of the fairway, it’s easier said than done. Innumerable duffers have become overwhelmed by utter frustration because of golf. In reality, it really isn’t all that bad.

Keep it Simple… Practice, Practice, Practice

Golf is a game of consistency. Hitting the ball the same way, given a specific situation, is key to achieving good scores. Problems such as short drive distance, slicing, hooking and other golfing ailments are caused by a lack of consistency. Learning how to properly swing a golf club ought to be simple enough as long as you learn how to do it right from the start and practice.

Each golfer develops their own distinctive style when swinging a golf club, however all golfers use the same set of rudimentary rules that make up their swing. The golfer’s spine acts as a rotating axis while the golfer keeps a proper grip on the golf club accelerating through the impact of the ball to full follow through.

Conserving Energy

Eliminating unnecessary movements incorporated in your golf swing is by far one of the best things you can do. Consider it conserving energy. Your energy should be focused on striking the ball and any added awkward motions can cause hooking, slicing or other problems.

Concentrate on the fundamentals keeping only the motions needed to hit the ball dead on center. Focusing on the fundamentals of the swing will lead you to a lower handicap in short order. With added practice, achieving par golf will become a matter of routine. Keep in mind this will only happen if you consistently practice.

Getting Formal Instruction

Learning how to properly swing a golf club may be accomplished by signing up for golf lessons administered by a local golf pro. Typical classes offered by local golf courses also provide clubs and trained teachers that are equipped to help you develop a proper swing. You need to show up with your determination and discipline coupled with lots of practice.

Signing up for lessons typically requires a fee, however many golfing organizations want to encourage the development of new golfers into the sport and they may offer money saving promotions to entice people to try it. Also consider taking group golf lessons rather than private lessons if you’re budget conscious.

Golfing Books and the Internet

Golf aids such as books or articles found in magazines or the internet provide a wealth of information on the proper golf swing. There are people who can apply what they’ve read translating it into motion on a golf course successfully. People who are more visual learners have a difficult time making much headway with this this type of instruction.

Be wary of random free articles you find on the internet since you get what you pay for and much of it can be quite conflicting. Your primary job is to determine which golf aids are best for you, ones that help you establish and improve your golf swing.

Once you’ve properly tuned your golf swing and gotten beyond the frustration, golf can be a fun and rewarding hobby.

Paul Iconia is a lover of golf and he’s been a player of the game for his entire life. In Paul’s quest to better his golf swing he’s discovered a little known secret on how to swing golf clubs for significant yardage. Learn what Paul discovered at his site http://www.golfswingtrainingonline.com.

There’s a time when Egypt holiday packages make sense and that’s generally when it’s time to finally travel to a part of the world that has some truly ancient history available for appreciation. One reason it’s always a good idea to see a place like Egypt is that it can be so easy to do these days owing to the number of companies set up to make seeing the country in a stress-free manner.

For your protection, you should always pay for your packages with a credit card. This way you have consumer protection in case your trip is failed to be delivered or the company ceases to do business. This way you can ensure that should any problems arise you will be able to quickly and easily get your money back.

The riverboat cruises seem to be most popular, lately. They include a mix of cruising on the river with stays in several quality hotels and sightseeing to Luxor, Aswan, Karnak and many of the finest historical sites in Egypt. Normally, most people will only see these places on a travel or history channel on the TV. With a holiday package, you can stand on the same ground pharaohs once stood on.

Other holiday packages will offer a combination of hotels, travel through the region and even an opportunity to scuba dive in the Red Sea along with a stay in Cairo, the largest city in Egypt and a metropolis both ancient and modern in its outlook. It isn’t unusual to see an archeological-quality site sitting right next to an ultra-modern building or plaza.

If you would like to save money on any Egypt holiday packages then you can always look for last minute ones that become available. These are typically available within one to two months of the travel date. This can save you a considerable amount of money by accepting cancellations and unsold packages with a sooner departure.

Egypt holiday packages are generally the way to go when visiting a country which has a history going back thousands of years. As a way to see some of the most famous and historic sites in all of world history, it’s hard to beat what can be accomplished by traveling through the country via a tour and holiday package instead of trying to put everything together on one’s own.

To reserve great standard egypt holiday packages at a low price, go to our site at www.Travelsoon.com now

Sometimes, the most useful deer hunting tips have to do with herd management. To prize hunters, the goal is to harvest a deer with big antlers. We aspire to one day get that huge rack. All of us hear about and tell each other tales of huge antlers; points, spread, diameter, length of tine… However, do you know what really makes a difference in regards to antler size?

There are three main things that can influence buck antler size:

1. Genetics

2. Nutrition

3. Age

Genetics determine how big the antlers might become. All experienced game managers or deer hunters know what is scientific truth: maximum antler size is largely determined by genetics. Sometimes, the best managed leases impose limits on how big an antler can be if it’s to be harvested. A limit is put each season on genetically desirable prey and killing of genetically inferior antlered deer lets the gene pool move towards more favorable traits. Although there is some doubt regarding the benefit of these practices (effective killing of inferior antlered deer is sometimes impossible given the harvest rates to population in general), it has a genuinely good motive.

Nutrition or what a deer has to eat is another factor affecting the size of a deers antlers. Even if a deer has superior genetics, when there are not enough nutrients available for the deer to eat, the antlers will never reach their full size. Experienced hunters will tell you about seasons when drought caused foliage and food sources to be scarce. They will also attest how these conditions made it impossible to find any deer with huge racks. In order for deer to reach their full antler producing potential, they need adequate nutrition throughout the entire year. Due to the fact that most of the antler growth occurs during the spring and summer time, nutrition through this period is the most important. This means that when foraging conditions are poor during the spring and summer months, antler growth will be limited. However, if time and energy are put into habitat management, adequate nutrition and foraging will be made more likely. There are many times that supplemental feeding is needed.

The final factor is age, however research suggests that once a buck has reached 3+ years of age genetics and nutrition play a larger part in antler growth. The size of the antler tends to increase greatly during the first few years of age and then to level off sometime between the fourth to sixth year depending on the breed and its genetics. For this reason, the harvesting of bucks younger than 4 years is not encouraged. The practice by insensitive hunters of culling bucks that are too young can lead to such colorful expressions from more experienced hunters as, “That deer still had milk on its breath.” It is best overall to harvest only the mature bucks. If you are in need of venison and a mature buck is not in evidence then harvest a doe. The hunt next season will reap the benefit.

We are hoping that you use these deer hunting tips during the upcoming deer hunting season. Please visit www.Deer-HuntingTips.com for more advanced deer hunting tips you can use this year.

Air travel has certainly become more troublesome since 9/11. However, most travelers would agree that the new restrictions are not without cause. That said, understanding these new restrictions can be a bit problematic. For instance, are you allowed to carry a bowie knife aboard a plane? You might be surprised by the answer to that question – yes, you can. However, you’ll have to follow some special rules setup by the TSA to maintain safety aboard planes.

First, you will need to make sure that your bowie knife is not packed in your carryon luggage. While you can take bowie knives aboard planes, your carryon bag is most certainly not the right place for them. Where can you put them? The only place that the TSA allows bowie knives is in your checked baggage – your suitcase, for example. This type of baggage is checked at the ticket counter, and then sent down a conveyor belt to be loaded in the belly of the plane. While this will certainly keep you apart from your knife for the duration of the flight, it does allow you to travel with your weapon.

However, the news is not all bad. The TSA does allow you to carry a bowie knife with you if it is packed in your suitcase, so long as that suitcase is checked at the ticket counter and is not a carryon item. Of course, there are a couple of further caveats to this, as well. Your knife must be securely packed, sheathed and safe. It cannot be left loose inside your suitcase, nor can you pack it without its sheath. Interestingly, the same rules apply to swords, razors and other knives. If this seems a bit inconvenient, remember, you shouldn’t have any need for your knife during the flight, so packing it away before hand should be no issue.

Next, you will also need to wrap the bowie knife in something – bubble wrap works well. Actually, if you can manage it, you should box your knife, wrapping and all. This will provide the utmost protection for baggage handlers and inspectors who might come into contact with your luggage and the knife itself. As long as you follow these precautions, you can carry anything in your suitcase from a bowie knife to scissors, swords and even firearms (broken down into component pieces, of course).

You should also understand that your bag will likely be inspected during the loading process. No matter how well packaged it might be, it will show up in the x-ray machine. Therefore, having bowie knives wrapped securely will prevent injury to the inspectors, as well as potential injury to baggage handlers. You will find that traveling with bowie knives or even with swords and other bladed weapons is not a problem so long as you follow the proper procedures.

Jack William Nicklaus, well known as “The Golden Bear,” was born on January 21, 1940 and may well be, as his fans will tell you, among the greatest pro golfers ever. Growing up in Columbus, Ohio, a pharmacist’s son, he was a student in Upper Arlington High School and beat a mild case of polio as a youth. Turning to golf at ten years old and shooting an amazing 51 for nine holes, he broke 70 at age 13 on eighteen holes.

As a junior player he won the Ohio Open in 1956 at sixteen years of age, the US Amateur twice (1959 and 1961), and an NCAA Championship in 1961. When Nicklaus played in the 1960 US Open he had a 282 and finished second behind golf great Arnold Palmer. He was also a part of and won the US Eisenhower Trophy with his team in 1960 with a four-round score of 269-this record still stands today.

By the close of 1961, Jack turned pro and in 1962, he played and won in one of his first major championship-The US Open. Beating Arnold Palmer, an achievement in itself, gave Nicklaus notice by fans and in 1966, he won the Masters Tournament for two consecutive years. He won the Open Championship as well in 1966, however, failed to win another until the Open Championship title again in 1970. During the years 1971-1980, he won nine major titles and overtook Bobby Jones’s record of thirteen titles. At 46 years of age, Jack won his 18th major championship, which was also his last, at the 1986 Masters Tournament-he was the oldest winner of this event.

He joined the Senior PGA Tour in 1990, where he racked up 10 wins by 1996 – eight of which were major tournament wins. His made his last Senior PGA tournament appearances in 2005. However, he has stayed active in the sport, writing on the subject, designing courses and even holding his own PGA tournament, the Memorial tournament. Hi runs one of the world’s leading golf course design firms and has written autobiographical titles as well as instructional works on playing the Nicklaus way.

Perhaps Nicklaus’ popularity came with golf’s popularity when he beat Arnold Palmer in 1962 at Oakmont in the US Open. With the emergence of television, Jack’s charisma, good looks, and true rivalry with Palmer attracted many viewers to golf-something they hadn’t seen before on TV. He won an unheard of prize money of $60,000 in 1962 and reached third place on the tour’s money list, and named Rookie of the Year. In 1963, one of his best years, he won the Masters and the PGA Championship.

In 1964, he won the British Open at St. Andrews and established a new record for lowest score in the last thirty-six holes-66-68. His Masters win in 1965 set a tourney record of 271-which stood until Tiger Woods shot 270 in 1997. In the 1968, The Golden Bear let his physical condition slip, which most felt affected his playing skills, but Jack improved in the fall of 1969 where he returned to top form. Sadly, he lost one of his biggest supporters and mentors, his father, Charlie Nicklaus in 1970.

Interviewed in 1970 after the death of his father, Nicklaus said: “I was playing good golf, but it really wasn’t that big a deal to me one way or the other. And then my father passed away and I sort of realized he had certainly lived his life through my golf game. I really hadn’t probably given him the best of that. So I sort of got myself back to work. So 1970 was an emotional one for me from that standpoint-it was a big boost.” Whatever the reason Nicklaus was certainly a record setter – he was the first player to win all four major tournaments twice in the course of his career.

In 1974, the PGA Player of the Year was given to Nicklaus for the third time and he was among the first to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. In 1975, he won his fifth Masters and his fourth PGA Championship. ABC named him Wide World of Sports Athlete of the Year. Again, at the top of the money list in 1976, he played what he liked to call, “hang-back-and-hope golf.” In 1986, he won his sixth Masters-again and unbelievably was still going strong. His 1978 British Open win gave him a place in golf history where he won each major championship three times-a record finally tied by Tiger Woods in 2008. His Senior Tour wins include The Tradition (four times), the Senior Players Championship, and the US Senior Open. Along with his 100th career win (The Tradition) in 1996, he and his four sons and son-in-law had 299 courses open in 2005, an impressive 1% of all the courses in the world. Jack Nicklaus is The Golden Bear for record breaking, his playing style, and his off-the-course achievements and will remain one of golf’s greatest players of all time.

In an attempt to offer some insight into the many awesome biking trails this country has to offer, I’ve narrowed down my 5 favorites in the Central areas of the USA. While there are so many to choose from, I’m hoping my humble opinions below will help you get the most out of your ride.

Waldo Canyon, CO. With literal breathtaking views , especially from the top, this trail doesn’t disappoint. At the apex of the ride you will be above the tree line, which is especially unique. There are few rides in this country where you get the feeling that you could touch Heaven itself. The downward ride is memorable and fun as well.

Palmer Park, Colorado Springs, CO. Colorado Springs is a personal favorite so I may be a bit biased about the trails here. Palmer Park offers many trails from beginner to expert. There is an added adventure element as well. There is no discernible way to navigate the park because the maps are incomplete, so you could get lost for a little while, but it is totally worth it. The rock formations impress every time.

Wyoming, Jackson. The Cache Creek to Game Creek Loop is a little southeast of Jackson. At the start it will seem a bit elementary and common. About 2 miles in you will start to realize how special this trail is. This varied plants, vegetation and wildlife that inhabit this trail make each ride through it a new discovery. As far as skill level goes, this trail will work for everybody but it a little more challenging if you do it backwards. For one of the most beautiful rides in the world, check out this trail.

MOAB brand trails, Moab UT. The MOAB brand trails are 4 tracks all named for letters in the name MOAB. M is the easiest and B is the most difficult. There is something for everyone and the trails offer everything from fun and rocky to slick rock with hairpin turns. Moab is a beautiful area to begin with and it definitely has the sense that it was designed with biking in mind.

Barton Creek Greenbelt, Austin TX. Few biking enthusiasts will argue that this trail is the best Texas has to offer. Austin is a great city with its live music scene, great food and atmosphere. If you want a little more nature and a little less urban, Barton Creek is the ride for you. This ride is inconsistent to say the least, even experienced bikers may find themselves walking in places. There is a single track on either side of Barton Creek, but there are stretches where there is no track at all. Despite its inconsistencies the ride is worth it.

Above are five excellent places to begin your exploration of Central US bike trails. Admittedly these trails kind of hug the edges of the Central US. I do like to have some elevation change in my bike trails and the bread basket doesn’t really provide you with that. These trails will keep you busy though, and happy with your bike riding if you dare to try to take them on.

by Jason Jackson

One of the coolest things I picked up when I was a kid was night angling. And regarding night angling, we always went for trout. Let’s take a look at best ways to have a great time fishing at night.

The best method that I found was to use a worm and floated it through the rapids and along beside overhanging banks. Sometimes you need to add a split shot or two if the water is flowing too fast, because you want it to bounce along the bottom or just off the bottom a couple inches.

Also there is another great way to catch brown trout in the middle of the night, and you don’t have to worry about the monstrous animals that are lurking in the woods, just waiting to eat you. There are some other methods you can use to get you great results as well. Some of these tips I learned from a very experienced person years ago.

This method consisted of driving down back roads in the daytime to locate potential hot-spots that we thought would produce trout in the night time. The first thing you would look for is a stream that passed under the road through a culvert. The best ones, were ones that on each side of the road the streams would be choked with bushes so that the fisherman could not travel along the stream. This meant that there wasn’t much fishing pressure of the trout stream.

In the evening, trout come out of the bushy area to feed. And they come out from the bushy section of the stream and go into the culverts to feed. So what we would do is cast our worms up underneath the culvert, and leave them set there. Every once in awhile we would pick our fishing rod and tighten the line. Now browns will take the bait and just sit there with the worm in his mouth. Once you feel a tug, that means you needed to set the hook.

A large part of this did require patience and waiting. If I remember right we solved a lot of the world’s problems while we waited. Then every once in awhile we would get out of vehicles and go check our fishing rods. Like I said earlier the benefits was a comfortable and dry night of fishing, no huge animals sneaking up on me out in the woods. Now I know that there really wasn’t anything sneaking up on me other than my fear while I was walking through the cedar swamps in the middle of the night.

Many different types of knives are available, and as with many other sport tool, if you don’t have the one that is required you’re likely to have an issue. A quality knife that receives proper care will last a lifetime. Tips for selecting the right knife for your sportsman is quite easy.

Most hunting knives are designed for skinning. If you want your knife to be good for skinning, the main thing you should pay attention to is the blade shape. You want a rounded or drop point so that when you are “ripping” the skin, the point of your knife will not dig into the meat. Also, you’ll probably want a fixed blade knife, as folding blades have to many crevices to trap blood and mess in.

Picking out a knife for camping may be difficult, as you want a versatile knife. You might demand this knife to cook food, trim down branches, fix gear, and numerous additional utilizations. Because of this reason, you will frequently determine that a Swiss army knife or multi instrument might satisfy your necessities better. Besides, you might prefer to add a saw, hatchet, or machete to your backpack prior to your farewell, for harder cutting chores.

You had better acquire a fish filet knife for sportfishing. A fish filet knife is well intended for cleanup of fish, and it as well may cut angling line easily, which makes up the additional primary chore for a sportfishing knife. On that point are as well electrical fish fillet knives available for the fisherman that are perpetually catching a lot of fish. Whenever you plan on sportfishing in seawater, make certain your knife is intended to hold up to the corrosion of seawater.

Trappers will generally want a skinning knife, much like a hunting knife.A fixed blade or a folding knife will work equally well, this would be a preference of the sportsman. Tougher tasks are normally done with an axe, so a second knife isn’t normally necessary.

A boater’s main need for a knife is similar to a fisherman, cutting line. You’ll want a sharp knife that is easily accessible and quickto use, should you need to cut a line in a hurry. Also be sure that the knife will stand up to wet condition. It is evident that each outdoor sportsman needs a certain type of knife. A quality knife will make your tasks simpler. A quality knife will often be passed on for many generations.

How to Shop First things first: Who will be riding the BMX bicycle? How important is a brand name? How long will Junior ride this BMX bike before he graduates to a mountain bike, or loses interest altogether and picks up a skateboard?

Be careful even with more expensive BMX bicycles, the price can be inflated for a fashionable bike or one that’s endorsed by a popular pro rider, even though it may not offer any better features or construction than a cheaper model. Differentiation of quality among brands, especially advertising and certain salespeople would have you believe. Particularly true of cheaper BMX bikes, many of which are made in the same factories overseas and then painted with different companies’ logos. Much of the purchasing decision will come down to you or your child’s riding preference, their need to follow fashion, and of course, the amount you are willing to pay.

A Good BMX Feature: They usually feature 36-spoke wheels and should come equipped with knobby tires for better traction. On a dirt.racing BMX bicycles usually require only single, rear wheel brakes. Depending on the type of BMX riding you’re interested in, BMX racing bikes need to be lightweight as well as rugged.

Freestyle BMX bikes, on the other hand, are ridden on the street so you’ll want smooth tires and 48-spoke wheels for increased strength. The handlebars should be able to spin 360 degrees and the frame should have 2 or 4 axle pegs for supporting the rider while he or she performs freestyle tricks. A freestyle BMX bicycle should have brakes on the front wheel as well as the rear, along with special stunt components such as cable detanglers so the cables don’t break or become knotted when you spin the handlebars in mid-air.

These bikes usually feature heavier duty frames and axles as well, with reinforced gussets in order to withstand the heavy landings from huge air jumps. BMX dirt-jumping bikes also need 48-spoke wheels, but with knobby rather than smooth tires, again for maintaining a good grip on dirt-jumping mounds. Like a racing BMX bicycle, a dirt jumping bike will only need a single, rear wheel brake.

How about Extra Kit ? Young kids and beginners should only ride within their skill and experience levels. Any rider will need a safety helmet, elbow and knee pad, especially those involved in freestyle riding and dirt jumping. You should tell your children that tricks and stunts performed on telly are by undertaken by skilled riders.

The Size does it matter? As your childs riding style changes or they grow, you might need to buy a longer seat post or adjust the handle bars to accommodate those changes. Unless you are shopping for a very young child, there are usually only minor variations in the size of a BMX bicycle frame. Variations that reflect the riding style of a rider rather than they body size.

To Department Shop or to Buy Local It is worth bearing in mind that buying a BMX bicycle from a department store rather than a specialist bike shop may not provide you with the follow-up replacement parts you may need in the future. Your local bicycle shop will likely not only offer the most helpful advice during the shopping process, but after you’ve made your purchase, they’ll also be there with mechanical support as well. A bigger selection will mean better choices, better deals, and salespeople who ride BMX bikes themselves.

When to Buy If you can wait until fall or winter when sales dip you are more likely to pick up a bargain deal from a shop that is eager to sell the older model BMX bicycles to make way for the next year’s model. As with other types of bikes, getting the best deal when purchasing a BMX bicycle is not just about knowing how to shop, but also when to shop. BMX bicycle prices can vary throughout the year, with the most popular time to buy a new BMX bike being the spring or summer.
