<p>Yoga increases muscular strength. It reduces tension and stress. It has a low potential for injury, and it doesn&#8217;t even look like exercise. Why, then, don&#8217;t more people practice <a href="http://bestyogainformation.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">simple yoga</a>?</p>
<p>Those who are uninitiated to yoga think that it&#8217;s mystical and passive, a &#8220;New Age&#8221; activity that doesn&#8217;t relate to everyday life. Oftentimes, these days, people experience a vacuum in their lives because most of their activity is directed outward. And just as often, to get back to health and balance, they&#8217;re going to have to redirect their attention inward, to go back to experiencing self.</p>
<p>In fact, yoga is an Indian discipline that has been practiced for more than 5000 years. Yet, here, it still boasts few followers. Almost half of the American adult population swims, while about 25% run or jog, but only 2% practice yoga.</p>
<p>The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit &#8220;yuj,&#8221; which means to yoke or connect. With yoga&#8217;s various techniques, you can achieve mental and physical equilibrium, inner peace, and improved health. Indeed, yoga is commonly said to provide not just a workout, but a &#8220;work-in&#8221;.</p>
<p>There are approximately eight main branches of yoga, each having several variations. Basically, however, only two are about exercise. Those are kundalini yoga and hatha yoga.</p>
<p>Hatha yoga is most commonly practiced in the Western world. Slow paced, it emphasizes controlled breathing, and its practitioners assume a variety of physical poses. Advocates believe that it boosts the health of your vital organs, glands, and nervous system.</p>
<p>Kundalini yoga, introduced to this country in 1969 by Yogi Bhajan, is more active than hatha yoga, and combines various movements, modes of breathing, and meditation. With kundalini yoga, the idea is that body energy is coiled below the base of the spine and this energy can be tapped so that it will travel upward through the different chakras or energy centers until it reaches the top of the head. When one arrives here, it is said that you have reached your fullest potential.</p>
<p>There are 84 basic yoga positions, classically speaking, also called asanas. These are done in tandem with special breathing techniques. The asanas or yoga positions can be simple twists and bends, or can be as complicated as pretzel-like contortions that only the most advanced practitioners are capable of. These various positions help build flexibility and make muscles longer. When used with proper breathing, they can help you rid your body of tension. The utilization of static holds helps isolate and strength in particular muscles.</p>
<p>Asanas have evolved over the centuries so that they now exercise every nerve, muscle and gland in the body. They can give you a fine and toned physique that is elastic and not musclebound, but strong. In addition, these asanas can help keep the body well and free of disease. Asanas can also help soothe the nerves and reduce fatigue. However, perhaps their real importance comes from the way they discipline and train one&#8217;s mind.</p>

Another yoga technique is Aum; its aim is to expand one&#8217;s awareness beyond the common human awareness. Nevertheless, these advanced yoga techniques can only be successfully performed by those who master the basic techniques and are ready to achieve an advanced focus. </p>
<p>Overall, yoga techniques of any kind benefit health dramatically. Those who practice yoga consistently report an overall sense of well being with increased fitness, flexibility, energy, and mental wellness.</p>

You are less likely to strain or pull a warm muscle than a cold one but it is just as beneficial to have a cool down exercise period after a workout has been completed. <p>Though a twenty second stretch is more than sufficient before beginning your routine, if this was slowly increased to a minute or more a movement there is a marked increase in the overall flexibility of the muscles and limb extensions. When beginning warm-up stretches, start them slowly and gently, returning to the starting position in the same way as this will provide the greatest benefit. Some people have injured themselves because they extend beyond their limits and do not hold the stretched position for a few seconds before returning slowly. Do not jump from an easy stretching exercise to a hard one, but complete the easiest first and do the hardest last as by this time most of your muscles will be warm and it will make the difficult exercise easier.</p>
<p>Another area, often neglected in stretch and warm-ups, is the neck. You would be surprised just how many people dont bother with this warm-up even though it is not in the least hard to do, in fact all it requires is the palm of the hand being placed on the forehead and pushing against it; this can be repeated for the back and sides. Stretching should also take place during any fitness training workout as well to keep the muscles and joints flexible especially prior to an exercise that may be strenuous on particular areas of the body.</p>
<p>Do not overstretch your self performing exercises you are not yet ready for just because there are others who can as this will cause further problems; work to your own pace. There is no set standard you have to achieve each time you attend the gym, just work to your abilities each time, you will know when it does not feel right to continue so listen to your body as no-one is at their peak every time they workout.</p>
<p>If you are someone who goes to the gym for fitness training every day then remember to alternate the muscle groups as they need to rest and grow for a day before being used again. Increasing your lung capacity, which means you won&#8217;t get out of breath so easily and heart improvement exercises like walking, running and rowing for instance are the best to start with and you will find weight machines much easier to use. If you are someone that likes aerobic exercise then you should listen to music if possible as it helps to have a regular beat.Even though every mp3 player for instance comes complete with a set of headphones, it will definitely be worth getting hold of a decent pair as there would be little chance of a leakage of sound; others may not want to listen to your music distorted thru the ear pots!</p>

Water is an essential part of the muscle building process, so you must stay hydrated or suffer the consequences of seeing less progress. Your muscles themselves consist of 70% water.</p>
<p>The A and B vitamin groups, as well as calcium, phosphorous, and zinc, are drained rapidly when alcohol is consumed. Vitamins and mineral keep little process in body function.</p>

<p>Alcohol consumption, especially at the times when you would normally sleep, can have effects on the quality of sleep. Clearly high quality sleep is extremely important to the rebuilding and growth process of muscle. Without proper rest and recovery, your gains will be affected.</p>
<p>While it is vital to enjoy things in life, excesses may result in trouble. For attaining substantial results in muscle-building, one&#8217;s alcohol consumption must be checked and if need be, brought down moderate levels, and this is imperative if you are serious in your intentions.</p>
<p>You can still go out for a good time occasionally, but make sure to cut back on the drinking and eat properly to lessen its effects.</p>
